You don't have to use the default license directory to store your license keys. You can move your keys to any directory but you need to set the location of this directory in the Preferences dialog.
Another method, though not as easy as the one described above, is to set an environment variable to point to the new location. You can set the environment variable to point to a directory (containing one or more license files with .lic file extensions) or to a specific file. The environment variable is:
lightmap_LICENSE
